  1. The PeJome site was created to make it as easy as possible to access free content directly from electronic reader devices (such as the Amazon Kindle).

  2. The PeJome site offers a number of advantages. a) It has a minimal user interface suitable for constrained screen devices, like the Kindle and PocketPCs. b) PeJome also automates the conversion of the Gutenberg formats to a format that is usable on MobiPocket reader devices.

  3. The PeJome converted books carry all the images stored in the original HTML source files (if available). But, a program-generated conversion will never match the quality of a skilled digital formatter. So, the quality is acceptable, but it can always be improved.

  4. The PeJome converted books have title, author and subject information that will display pleasantly on eReaders. However, a table of contents usually does not display well on the Kindle, in particular.

  5. Any of the 28,000+ books available from Project Gutenberg. Bear in mind that this number includes foreign language and multiple formats per book, so the true number is less.

  6. We currently update the Gutenberg catalog (our master source of books for searching) once per week. If site usage warrants, the catalog will be updated daily in the future.

  7. Book conversion takes the original format from Project Gutenberg and produces a file that is presentable on MobiPocket eReaders. PeJome only converts a book once when the first user requests it. Subsequent requests for the same book use the previously converted version.

  8. In most cases, PeJome taks less than 15 seconds to convert a newly requested book from Gutenberg. However, times can vary depending on how busy the Gutenberg site is and other factors.
